BakerRipley’s Learning and Innovation Centers are like stepping into a world of unlimited possibilities. These centers are places of inspiration. Our centers provide access for everyone to create with latest technology. Welcome to a world of limitless possibility.

We are located across Houston metro in our community centers in Aldine, Gulfton Sharpstown, Pasadena and in our Central Campus in East End. We serve K-12 students through adults.

Gulfton and East End Learning Centers

BakerRipley has partnered with Verizon to promote and enhance technology-centered learning that focuses on STEM and STEAM education, professional development, small business, and digital skills opportunities.

The Gulfton Learning Center and East End Learning Center feature community-based events, workshops and independent work opportunities in the following areas for:

Adults/Small businesses

Audio, video, photography and content creation tools
3D printing: learn 3D modeling software and print your creation onsite.
Laser cutting and engraving: Design and create using a variety of materials.
Professional Development / Team Building: Learn and practice the fundamental concepts of design thinking

For youth, we offer various classes with local schools and organizations:

Coding, robotics, and STEM/STEAM education
Content creation – podcasting, photography, video recording and editing
Digital Fabrication (Laser cutting/engraving and 3D printing)
21st century skills: critical thinking, collaboration, communication, creativity

East End Learning Center

Fab Lab Houston

Fab Lab Houston is located at BakerRipley’s East Aldine Campus. One of only 10 Fab Labs in the United States, this 5,000 square foot facility is a maker space for youth and adults to enjoy a safe environment as they engage in creative pursuits and hands-on learning opportunities.

Designed to cultivate a community of makers in Houston, Fab Lab Houston provides resources and opportunities for collaboration, entrepreneurship, STEM/STEAM education and professional development. It’s a maker space for youth and adults to enjoy a safe environment to engage in creative pursuits as well as hands-on learning opportunities.

The Fab Lab was established as a partnership and collaboration supported by Chevron and the Fab Foundation.

We are open Tuesday – Friday 10 AM –6 PM.

School Open House/STEM Events: We bring table activities, Mobile Fablab, and outreach presentations to local schools and community events.

After-school Programs for students to enhance STEM/STEAM skills, cognitive and engineering design thinking, and creative outlets.
In School Programs that expose students to STEM/STEAM experiences.
Field Trips that allow organizations and schools to bring groups of students to the FabLab for creative programing.
Youth Camps allow for a deeper dive into STEM/STEAM programs that move the participant from beginner to intermediate, and for some advanced!

Introductory Workshops to digital fabrication (woodworking, 3d printing, sewing, laser cutter, vinyl cutter).
Professional Development(PD) programs offer a variety of technical, software, and tool-based training that empower the learner to broaden their skills. Our PD is set up to both teach the teacher or enhance a person’s knowledge.
Team Building exists at the apex of learning and collaboration. Allow us the opportunity to curate an experience that your whole team will enjoy!

These memberships are $10 per month for East Aldine residents and $50 per month for non-residents

Mobile Fab Lab

A Mobile Fab Lab, outfitted with much of the same equipment as Fab Lab Houston, is available at locations throughout Houston. Schools, after-school programs, and community events can rent the Mobile Fab Lab for on-site lessons, professional development, team-building activities and more.
