Every year, BakerRipley has exciting opportunities for small businesses across the Greater Houston area to access capital in the form of cash prizes.

Ignite HTX!

IgniteHTX! is BakerRipley's annual pitch competition for aspiring and current entrepreneurs where, ten finalists pitch to expert judges and compete for up to $5,000 in cash!

How to Apply

Do you have a business idea that needs exposure?

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, all applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Live in or operate a business in one of the following Texas counties:
    Harris, Fort Bend, Brazoria, Montgomery, Chambers, Liberty, or Galveston

For entrepreneurs with a new or recently formalized business

  • Business is less than 4 years old
  • If applicable, submit a business formalization letter

Applicants will select one of two business categories to compete in:

Products: Items produced naturally or artificially due to work or operation.
Services: Benefits offered to an individual or company.

Lanzante Pitch Competition

Lanzate Houston!

Each fall, BakerRipley partners with the City of Houston Office of Business Opportunity to host Lanzate Houston! This event is the first and only of its kind in Houston to be held entirely in Spanish. Entrepreneurs pitch their business to a panel of expert judges in one of two categories: product or service.

Entrepreneurs in a wide range of industries from all over Houston participate in the competition each year. Winners in each category are awarded first, second and third prizes of $4,000, $3,000, and $2,000 as well as a “fan favorite” prize of $1,000.
